Vansh Bedi breaks his silence amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the Delhi Premier League (DPL) and some of their players. A sting operation involving Rachit Bhatia, a former Ranji Trophy cricketer, sparked controversy and raised questions about the franchise league in Delhi.
It was a sting operation that grabbed the headlines. During the sting operation, Rachit Bhatia referred to a young cricketer who might have been associated with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Cricket fans across social media platforms, however, linked the allegations to the Delhi-based cricketer.
Amid the growing tension around Vansh Bedi, the young keeper-batter, who was associated with CSK, broke his silence through an Instagram post on the evening of September 22.
Vansh Bedi breaks his silence amid the match-fixing allegations
In this explanation, the emerging cricketer stated that he is not the cricketer who was involved in the match-fixing allegations. Legal action will be taken against anyone who links him with the match-fixing allegations without having any strong grounds, as Bedi mentioned in his post.
“I would like to clarify certain false and defamatory content circulating on social media and websites concerning me. I categorically state that I am not the individual referred to by Ex-Ranji Trophy cricketer Rachit Bhatia in the Tehelka sting operation concerning alleged match-fixing involving a CSK player, nor do I have any involvement whatsoever in any such activity,” Vansh Bedi said in his Instagram post.
“Any attempt to falsely link me with these allegations is highly defamatory. My legal team is taking appropriate civil and criminal action against those responsible. I request everyone to refrain from creating or sharing such false and defamatory content,” he further wrote in the post.

The source was unnamed in the sting operation
There was no evidence against Vansh Bedi that he was the player who helped the former domestic cricketer in supplying internal news outside. Bedi was with the Chennai Super Kings during the IPL 2025 season as a keeper-batter.
According to the former cricketer, someone from the team that season provided him with some inside information, which was later transferred to bookmakers based in London through Snapchat. Bhatia never mentioned Bedi or any CSK player’s name during the sting operation.
Vansh Bedi earned INR 3 crore for supplying informations
But some of the cricket fans assumed that Vansh was the man who helped Rachit Bhatia, without any strong proof. So the thing is, there is a very thin line between the allegations and what actually happened.
In the sting operation, it was also revealed that Bhatia earned INR 60 lakh on each of five matches for leaking the information to the bookies; in total, he got around INR 3 crore. It was claimed that one of his friends, who was with CSK, acted as his source.
Vansh Bedi came under the social media trial after his stint with the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025; he took part in the Delhi Premier League, which fueled the allegations against him.
